Doug McArthur - Singer, Songwriter, All-Around Okay Guy

I’ve been writing and recording music my entire adult life, and what you’ll find on this page is some information about my history as a musician, and links to listen to all the studio-recorded albums and EPs released under the two main projects I founded and fronted: Broken Halo (2002-2011) and Soapbox (2013-2017). I’ve also done a fair bit of writing and demoing under my own name, but have yet to release that fabled solo album. One day.

All My Music in One Playlist

If you want one mega playlist with all my studio recordings, here you go!

Some Highlights from my Music Career

I sang backing vocals for Heart

As part of a small gospel choir, which consisted of members of the World Village Gospel Choir, I sang backing vocals for Heart on their cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway to Heaven”, live at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg on June 22, 2014. It was a major thrill to sing with such a legendary band, not to mention to share the stage with Jason Bonham, the son of late Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham, and a drumming legend in his own right.

Doug McArthur – Singer / Songwriter / Guy Who Makes Music

I’m a singer/songwriter. My most recent project was called Soapbox.

I was the lead singer of the Winnipeg rock band Broken Halo from 2002-2011. Have a look at the Music category on the blog for posts with demos and other music related stuff.

Other Recordings

I sometimes throw demos, song snippets and other bits of music up on my Soundcloud page.
