There’s nothing more important on the web than producing great content. It is the difference between a website that merely does the job and one that wows and delights your visitors. Like a finely roasted cup of coffee, there are a number of different elements that make up the tastiest of content – a special blend of keyword research, concise, clean writing and understanding how people read on the web.

How To Write For the Web
Your best bet is to get the content you want people to read in the first two paragraphs or blocks of content on the page. That’s where people focus their attention. After that, they’re scanning the page for the information they’re looking for, and if they can’t find it quickly or easily enough, they will bounce. That might sound like a fun time on the dance floor, but bounces are deadly to your website. Want to avoid bounces?
- Get the most important content up top.
- Break up further content with bulleted lists, graphics and video.
- Try to answer common questions with direct responses.
- Write, monitor the results, rewrite, monitor again, rewrite. Rinse and repeat.
